Anatomical structure of pericarp and seed skin of Quercus species introduced in St. Petersburg

The results of anatomical study of pericarp and seed skin of 8 species from 3 sections and 7 subsections of subgenus Euquercus of genus Quercus introduced in Saint-Petersburg are given. The structure of pericarp is peculiar not only in limits of sections but inside of subsections as well. The results of research may be of practical importance for species identification in arboreal collections. The study was supported by RFBR, grant 13-04-00852.
