About This Journal

Modern Phytomorphology (ISSN 2226-3063, eISSN 2227-9555) is a peer-reviewed journal with open access policy under the Creative Commons BY-NC-ND license. It was established in Lviv in 2011 and firstly issued in early 2012 by enthusiastic botanist Dr. Andrew V. Novikoff (Andriy V. Novikov). Currently, it is published on the base of State Natural History Museum NAS of Ukraine. Starting from fall 2016 it is also hosted in Zenodo under the same license.

Modern Phytomorphology has a hybrid continuous publishing model, which means that papers are publishing on-line as soon as they are processed, while the hard version of full volume is printed just once per year and includes all papers of the current year. On-line papers are not “early view papers” or “pre-prints”, but final versions which include continuous page numeration of current volume. The date of first appear on-line is considered as a date of first publishing, which is also indicated in the paper.

Modern Phytomorphology publishes original research articles, correspondences, review articles, short communications, perspective/opinion, proceedings, corrigenda, editorials and short reports covering experimental and field plant biology. Modern Phytomorphology is especially focused on plant sciences covering anatomical, morphological, physiological and related taxonomical investigations of plants and fungi in a wide sense. It also accepts research results from fields of botany, e.g. phytogeography, vegetation, phytosozology, reproductive plant biology, ecology and evolution, crop diseases, photosynthesis. Some, but not all of journal issues are closely related to the International conference on plant morphology and include both full-text articles and short abstracts or communications represented on these conferences. Journal prefers manuscripts written in English.
